Jacek Poręba, M.Sc.Eng.

Technical Manager

Jacek has been working in mechanical and energy engineering for over two decades, managing complex turbine and control system projects across industrial and power sectors. He’s skilled in reverse engineering, production support, and technical supervision — translating demanding requirements into reliable mechanical solutions and smooth operations.

In his free time, Jacek explores aerospace technologies, including jet and pistons combustion engines, drones, and control systems. As a licensed pilot (airplane, glider, ultralight), he combines practical aviation experience with deep technical knowledge. He also enjoys working with CAD/CAM tools, 3D scanning, and simulation software.

At CosmicFly, Jacek supports R&D with his deep expertise in mechanical systems and energy infrastructure. He helps the team design, test, and refine physical prototypes, ensuring they meet both engineering standards and operational needs.

Łukasz Marciniak, M.Sc. Eng.

Engine Expert, Owner of LM Awiacja

Łukasz is a former military jet fighter and test pilot with over 30 years of experience in aviation. He flew TS-11, MiG-21, and MiG-29 aircraft, and held roles as mission commander, instructor, and certified test pilot. After leaving the Air Force, he continued flying as a civilian pilot and shifted focus to aircraft engineering — especially propulsion systems.

He’s the inventor of a patented Polish two-stroke engine design, optimized for UAVs and lightweight aviation, where simplicity and power-to-weight ratio matter most. He also holds degrees in Transport & Logistics and HR Management, combining technical expertise with strong leadership and project coordination skills.

At CosmicFly, Łukasz brings deep knowledge in flight dynamics, engine design, and flight testing, helping the team build smarter and more efficient solutions.

Małgorzata Szpoton, M.Sc. Eng

IT Expert

Gosia has been working in software for over 20 years, helping big international and Polish companies in industries like oil & gas, pharma, finance, HR, and telemetry. She knows how to deal with complex and regulated environments (like GxP or PSD2), turning tricky requirements into clear tasks, user-friendly interfaces, and releases that pass audits without stress.

In her free time, she enjoys building full software prototypes using modern tech and AI tools — like JavaScript/React, Python, C#, or OpenAI API — testing ideas and checking if they really bring value.

At CosmicFly, Gosia helps turn R&D ideas into real projects. She is responsible for user-facing software that is easy to use and intuitive. She makes sure everyone is on the same page, and keeps documentation ready for partners and reviewers. Her background in CAD/CAM and 3D printing also helps the team quickly build and test physical prototypes.

Paweł Borzym, M.Sc. Eng, WUT Mechatronics

IT Developer

11 years in embedded software and electronics, specializing in non-standard
MCU/DSP applications. Architect of industrial IT systems, M2M interfaces, UX/HMI
for mission-critical UIs, and AI-enabled (incl. LLM-based) tooling. Extensive
commercial and R&D delivery experience.

At CosmicFly he is responsible for flight-controller I/O (interfaces, peripherals, drivers),
low-latency sensor/actuator integration, and pilot/operator HMI—bridging embedded
constraints with reliable ground tools and data flows.

Expertise Areas

Autonomy, AI & Perception

We build smart flight systems that help drones see, plan, and make decisions. Our solutions use cameras, LiDAR, SLAM, and sensor fusion to avoid obstacles, fly in groups, and follow optimized paths. We design autonomy with safety in mind — using explainable models, backup modes, and EU-compliant methods (SORA). Everything is tested in simulations and real flights to make sure it works and meets regulations.

GNC & Automatic Control

We create and test control systems for drones, rockets, and propulsion test rigs. Our GNC stack includes guidance, navigation, control, and fault detection. Using model-based design and full testing campaigns (SIL/HIL), we deliver reliable performance ready for certification. From autopilots to thrust-vector control, we turn R&D into working flight systems.

Propulsion & Innovative Engines

We develop new engine concepts and propulsion systems that are efficient, safe, and ready to build. Our work includes electric and hybrid systems, as well as liquid-fueled rockets. We focus on engine cycles, control, cooling, materials, and ignition. Prototypes are tested in our lab to collect data and improve designs. The result: cleaner, stronger, and scalable propulsion.

Airframes & Structures

We design strong and lightweight airframes for drones, fast vehicles, and rockets. Using simulations and testing, we balance performance with easy manufacturing — in composites and metals. We deliver full design packs and test plans, backed by lab tests. This helps reduce risk, speed up development, and support EU R&D goals.

Avionics, Sensors & Flight Software

We build avionics systems for drones and rockets — from sensors and GNSS/INS to flight computers and communication links. Our software is focused on safety and follows aviation standards like DO‑178C and ECSS. We use model-based development, static analysis, and automated testing. Our systems include secure connections, time sync, and digital twins to support testing and certification.

Systems Engineering, Safety & V&V

We help manage complex aerospace projects with clear structure and safety. Using MBSE tools like SysML, we define requirements, architecture, and testing plans. Safety is built in from the start — with risk analysis, FMEA/FTA, and compliance with EASA and ECSS. We keep everything traceable and organized, so each part of the project delivers real results.

Flight Test & Certification (EASA/EU)

We plan and run safe flight and ground tests for drones, rockets, and experimental platforms. Our services include choosing test ranges, preparing safety cases, and working with aviation authorities. We design telemetry and procedures, then run controlled tests that give solid data. Our documentation helps speed up certification and approvals in the EU.

Space Systems & Rockets

We support full development of small rockets and launch systems — from mission planning and propulsion to control systems and ground operations. We follow ECSS standards and build fast prototypes, running static-fire and test-stand campaigns. Our goal is to turn ideas into working flight hardware, ready for EU-funded R&D and future missions.
